Tour d'Elegance
The Tour d'Elegance is an integral part of the Concours beginning a long weekend of celebration! This is an exciting, fun filled three day driving adventure, touring pristine Pacific Northwest back roads, nestled in giant Evergreens with vistas of salt water inlets and wildlife. Including great cars and folks from all over the country, enthusiasm for this event has caused many participants from previous years to return.
The Tour will leave Kirkland Thursday, September 8th, traveling by Washington State Ferry to Bainbridge Island where we will enjoy lunch and visit a car collection or two. Afterwards we will drive north to the Resort at Port Ludlow where we will spend Thursday and Friday nights. This boutique-sized property features waterfront views, fine dining and many other amenities for our group to partake.
Friday morning, following breakfast, the tour will meander along scenic roads around Hood Canal to our Seabeck lunch located under the giant Cedar trees at the private manicured waterfront gardens of a local car enthusiast. Saturday the tour will leave Port Ludlow, returning to Woodinville for a catered lunch and a display of our cars at the Vin d’Elegance. Departure from Woodinville will be in time to return to the Woodmark Hotel for the rest of the Kirkland Concours d'Elegance activities.
The Tour d'Elegance is limited to 25 cars so you are encouraged to register early. To be accepted for the 2011 Tour d'Elegance, the car you will drive must be a 2011 Kirkland Concours entry, a past entry or a car that is appropriate for the Kirkland Concours. Inaugural Tour d'Jour - Friday, September 9th
Come along and enjoy the beautiful scenery and roads of SW King and NE Pierce County in a ½ day tour, leaving from the Lemay Museum in Fife and ending at the corporate headquarters and retail store of Griot’s garage on 38th St in Tacoma for a barbecue and display of participant cars. Drive along beautiful lakes with views of Mount Rainier, rushing streams and verdant forests. A mid-morning stop at the Truly Scrumptious Bakery in Eatonville will also be a high point . This is the first year for this tour and is a private, by-invitation only, event for vintage, collectible and modern model sports cars.
The Grand Gala ~ "Casino Royale"
The 2011 Grand Gala is slated for Saturday night, September 10th, under the stars on the main plaza at Carillon Point. Held on the east shore of Lake Washington, and directly across the lake from the Emerald City, the Grand Gala offers guests a elegant evening of dining, dancing and mingling with friends.
